Why We’re Running

It’s been 1 year since the loss of a dear friend: Emmanuel Isaachar Assaraf, at only 28 years old. His big smile and kind eyes were a window to his special, soft, and gentle soul. He was always happy, sharing jokes and spreading love and in turn easily loved by all. A young man with a physical and spiritual beauty, and an inherent kindness that was clear when he helped a person in need.

In his memory we are running in the Race to Save Lives, and raising money to sponsor a Day of Lifesaving with United Hatzalah! United Hatzalah of Israel, is a critical organization dedicated to saving lives regardless of race, religion, or gender. During the year, United Hatzalah responds to 1,800 emergency calls a day all throughout Israel in 3 minutes or less. With over 6,200 volunteers, United Hatzalah is the only free EMS organization in Israel. On the selected Day of Lifesaving that we are fundraising toward, all 1,800+ calls to United Hatzalah throughout Israel will be answered in memory of Emmanuel – many lives will be saved in his merit.

If United Hatzalah volunteers can at any moment run to an emergency and give someone a second chance at life, we can do this for them. Let’s elevate Emmanuel’s neshama by giving back!
